About Janet

Janet
McDonald, 36, was a devoted wife and loving mother of three
wonderful children, Chip, Katelyn, and Eric. She
succumbed to melanoma in November 1995, after an eighteen
month battle with the disease.
Her
courageous fight against cancer was fought with strength,
hope, and dignity. She truly was an inspiration to all
of us.
Janet
believed that the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's
Immunotherapy Research Department is on the right path
towards finding a cure.
This
walk is held in honor of Janet's memory. By holding
this event, we'll continue her fight for a cure and help
countless others who are suffering, tired, and scared.
About
the Walk
The
friends and family of Janet McDonald have organized a five
mile walk in her memory. An avid walker, Janet's daily
five mile route took her through the towns of Avon and
Randolph, MA. The route started in Avon Center,
continuing to Randolph's Crawford Square, Memorial Parkway,
to Highland Avenue, to Stoughton Street, to South Main
Street, and back to Avon Center.
Our
walk will take us on Janet's route and allow us to raise
much needed funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's
Immunotherapy Research Department.
With
your participation and support, we will come closer to
finding a cure for this horrible disease - CANCER.
